book clubs

Thursdays at 10:00 am

Father Doty will kick off this new group in September. Each “course” will run for four to six weeks. Several of the sessions are taken from Daily Practices For God’s People, a program developed by talented persons within our own Diocese of Western North Carolina. This is truly an excellent course of study. We will use sections of this throughout the next year.

Some of the “sessions” will be led by parishioners. Occasionally, between sessions, the Crossings group will take a day trip to an interesting place and enjoy lunch before returning to Tryon.   At other times, we plan to watch a video and discuss it afterwards.

We will cover fun and interesting topics and we always have stimulating discussions. Please join us!

 February 2 to February 23

The group will be discussing Barbara Brown Taylor's book An Altar in the World.  Barbara Brown Taylor is one the most effective preachers and teachers in the Episcopal Church today.  The discussion will be led by Father Doty.  Books are available for $15 in the office.
