September 15 - Wednesday Supper begins.  Please see bulletin board for menu and to sign up.

September 14 - Bible study, a ten week intensive study of Revelations.  Each Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm, Father Doty will lead the class as it looks at the allegorical nature of the text and the historical content of the writings.  The class meets in the McGavern Room.

September 19 - Worship Committee meeting after the 10:30 service

September 27 - Season of Grief series begins.  This is a series of eight conversations about adjusting our lives after the loss of a loved one.  Classes run through November 15 and each class is from 6:30 to 8:00 in the Common Room.  Please contact Mary Hales or Cam Lawrence for more information.

October 17 - Church picnic.  8:30 service will be held at church.  The 10:30 service and picnic will be at Penn Dean's home.  Sunday school will not take place this day.  Please watch the bulletin or call the church for more information.

October 29 - Organ Concert.  Brennan Szafron is the organist and choirmaster of the Episcopal Church of the Advent and professor and college organist of Converse College, both in Spartanburg, SC.  He will be presenting a recital of music for Halloween and All Saints' Day at 7pm entitled "Saints and Souls Alive!"  Some of the composers featured will be J.S. Bach, Marcel Dupré and Leon Böellmann.  He is thrilled to be given the opportunity to play one the finest organs in Western North Carolina. Come hear the scary and not so scary sounds of the great organ of Holy Cross!

 

Join the Grandmother's Guild!  These ladies wil be on call to keep the Nursery when we have small children at the services.  Please contact Frances McCain or Wanda Doar for more information
