The liturgy is a reverent and joyful celebration of the Eucharist, which includes the singing of hymns, reading of Scripture, preaching, praying, breaking of the bread, and distribution of Communion. While the service can seem formal and strange at times if you are not an Episcopalian, we sing, pray, read, and preach with passion and joy. |
The preaching is always focused on Scripture and how it impacts our lives as Jesus’ disciples. The sermon is not a lecture or a data dump; rather, Fr. Robert preaches in the midst of the congregation without notes or a manuscript. The preaching event here at Holy Cross is meant to be a grace filled event that transforms the whole congregation so that we are better able to see and follow Jesus. |

Music at Holy Cross offers a blend of traditional and contemporary music. Hymns are usually selected from The Hymnal 1982, with occasional use of contemporary hymns from the Episcopal publication, Wonder, Love, and Praise. |
The Holy Cross Chancel Choir leads the music at the second/late Sunday morning worship services during the program year. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, preparing hymns and choral anthems of various musical styles. |
